This policy brief, based on the Gender Responsive Climate Security Assessment for Sri Lanka, examines how embedding justice and equity in climate action can address underlying grievances, strengthen social cohesion, and prevent the re-emergence of conflict in Sri Lanka. It offers gender-responsive and conflict-sensitive recommendations to advance inclusive climate adaptation, peacebuilding, and national unity.

This report, developed in partnership between the European Institute for Peace and Weathering Risk Peace Pillar, presents the results of an extensive consultation as part of the project Environmental Pathways for Reconciliation in Yemen. The analysis reveals the multiple dimensions of environmental risks that Yemen is grappling with and their impact on its social fabric, human security, and conflict.
